The Company:
Emotions in Harmony, Inc (a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization), serves couples, individuals, and families. Clients are mainly Latinx and/or Spanish speaking. They present with a wide range of issues, including symptoms of anxiety, stress, and/or depression.
Emotions in Harmony also specializes in providing trauma-informed care, including a variety of support services to children, adolescents, and adults. Many have experienced sexual violence as well as other forms of violence and abuse. Victims of crime are also eligible for care, covered by CalVCP.
Emotions in Harmony is rooted in a strong value of social justice. As such, it strives to support a good quality of life for all immigrants. The position:


Full-time with a range of 15-20 clients per week Spanish-speaking mental health psychotherapist. For fewer hours contact us.


Salary:
Payment is per hour. We will seek your own clients and we will assist you in the marketing. You will earn only for Face-to-face hours AND if you are part or full-time you will have other commitments to assist in the podcast/broadcast production.


Minimum qualifications:


  • Graduate degree in a psychology-related field from an accredited college or university in the United States
    Licensed clinician in your field (Ph.D., PsyD, MFT, LPCC, MSW, etc)
    Oral and written fluency in English and Spanish
    Minimum 2 years direct client experience working with children and families
    Drivers License and HR clearance required, including TB test and the Department of Justice LiveScan Fingerprint clearance
    In-depth knowledge of various issues that affect the lives of the Latinx community, both immigrant and U.S.born

Job requirements:


A valid and current unencumbered license to practice psychotherapy in the State of California at the masters or doctorate level.
Provide psychotherapy and services to clients in both English and/or Spanish
Manage a caseload of 15 to 20 clients per week
Minimum commitment of 4 months; longer commitment preferred
Availability during evenings until 8:00 p.m. is required (at least three evenings); no weekend work hours required but you can do them. Weekdays are flexible. We organize the schedule every week, so no need to be on call.

A desire to learn forensic skills is needed (in order to conduct immigration evaluations).

Job Responsibilities:


  • The clinician will provide individual, group, and family therapy as needed
    The clinician will provide crisis intervention services as appropriate
    Provide comprehensive and individualized clinical case management and coordination of services, resources, and referral services
    Assist in the development and creation of podcasts and videos with psychology-related topics; public appearances are optional and the expected time commitment is 3-5 hours.
    Collaborate with other clinicians and podcast staff to coordinate ethically appropriate, theoretically sound, culturally informed, and holistic interventions to address client issues and enhance client strengths
    Keep track of payments for CalVCP, other insurances, and private pay (training will be provided)
    Participates in quality improvement committees and other agency meetings as requested
    Maintain participant records utilizing an Electronic Health Record system(s) or other computer-based means to effectively complete all clinical documentation (provided to you by the company)
    Meet all HIPAA standards including but not limited to exchanging information and keeping Protected Health Information (PHI) secure
